Hi there, I’m Sheryl.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from traveling, it’s that every journey is an opportunity to grow.

I created Elevating Life Through Travel as a solo travel blog and guide for people who want more than just sightseeing. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your solo travel experiences, this space is here to help you explore with confidence, step out of your comfort zone, and grow through every trip.

How I Got Started with Solo Traveling

I didn’t plan to travel alone. Most of my earlier trips were with other people, whether it was family vacations, friend getaways, school trips, or work travel. I thought it would always be that way.

One day, after carefully planning a group trip, my friends began to back out one by one. With everything booked, I had a decision to make: cancel, or go solo.

At first, I hesitated. I had traveled alone before, but only locally. Still, something in me knew I didn’t want to keep waiting. So I took the next step.

I had background info on the country thanks to a local friend who told me what to expect and even gave me a step-by-step guide to get around. But I still got lost. I didn’t want to rely on them every moment, so I did my best to figure things out on my own. Each time, I figured it out. In the end, I always made it back safely.

That first trip showed me I could do more than I thought. It was the beginning of everything.

Why I Still Travel Solo (And Why This Space Might Be for You)

Travel has become more than just seeing new places. It’s how I reconnect with myself, stay curious, and challenge what I think I know. Every solo trip reminds me to adapt, trust myself, and be fully present.

I keep traveling alone because it has made me more confident, grounded, and self-aware. And if you’re here, chances are you’re looking for more than just a vacation too.

This space is for you if:
